These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a legal agreement that apply to all commissions and consulting services that I provide. By paying your order invoice, you agree that you have read, understand, and agree to all of these terms.
I reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Any modification or exception to these Terms for a particular order must be documented in writing and signed by both parties.

Services Offered
I offer writing, VRChat, and Unity commissions and consulting work. Although my work is geared towards the furry fandom, I accept work involving non-furry characters as well. I accept both SFW and some NSFW commissions. Whether or not I take on a NSFW commission depends on the content involved. All characters in an NSFW commission must be of legal age.
I will not accept work that involves any of the following:
- Any commission that involves a real person without their consent
- Any commission that would violate US copyright laws and/or would not be considered fair use
This list is not all-inclusive; I reserve the right to turn down a commission for any reason not prohibited by law.
Placing an Order
You may request a commission using the order form here or by reaching out to me directly.
After reviewing your request, I will get in touch with you to discuss any questions I might have about the work and build a quote.
To ensure I can maintain a high level of quality and deliver work within a reasonable timeframe, I only accept a limited number of commissions at a time. You can check whether or not I have slots open at my Trello Queue.
Pricing and Payment
Base pricing for writing commissions can be found here.
Base pricing for VRChat and Unity commissions can be found here.
For SFW commissions, I accept payment via PayPal invoice or through my Artconomy store. You must be 18 or older to pay using PayPal; by paying your order invoice, you confirm that you are 18+ years of age. Minors may order SFW commissions through Artconomy unless stated otherwise in Artconomy’s Terms of Use.
Due to PayPal Terms of Use restrictions, all payment for NSFW commissions must be paid using Artconomy.
For PayPal orders, all invoices and payments for my commissions will show as being from Lupo Artico Studios, LLC, which is the business I operate all of my commissions under.
All payments are in USD. I will not split payments between multiple people, and whoever pays the invoice will be my primary contact for any communication relating to the work. For orders paid using PayPal, the invoice must be paid within 7 days or it will be canceled.
I will not start working on a commission until payment has been received in full. The sole exception to this rule is commissions of $500 or more, which may be paid on a payment plan. Payment plans require an initial deposit of 30% of the commission cost before I begin work. The remaining balance can be split across either two or three monthly payments, which will be negotiated before I send you the invoice for the deposit. You may pay the remaining balance of your payment plan early at any time.
For orders with a payment plan, your order will be paused if a payment is missed. Once your payments are current again, your order will be resumed. If my commission queue is full when payment resumes, your order may be delayed.
Deadlines and Delivery
Average turnaround times for most commission types can be found on the Story Commissions page and the VRChat and Unity Commissions page. I will also provide my best estimate of the timeframe when I provide you with a quote for your order. These times are rough estimates only and may vary depending on my current queue and the complexity of the commission.
My turnaround estimates do not factor in approval time or any other delays where I am waiting on information from you.
Rough Drafts and Approvals
All story commissions will include at least one rough draft. Once the rough draft is complete, I will send it to you in PDF format for review. You have 7 days from receiving the rough draft to reply with any feedback or requested edits. I will then begin work on the final copy based on your feedback.
All VRChat/Unity commissions will have WIP images and a walkthrough video sent to you for review prior to delivery. You have 7 days from this time to reply with any feedback or requested edits. I will then begin work on the final Unity package based on your feedback.
Novel commissions and large VRChat world commissions will typically have multiple rough draft/review periods to make sure the work is shaping up the way you want. Details on the number of review periods will be provided to you alongside your quote.
If you do not provide feedback within the allowed timeframe, I will assume that no revisions are needed and begin work on the final copy. No revisions may be made once the final copy has been delivered. If you need more time to review, please let me know before the review period ends.
Any edits you request that substantially differ from your requirements or that require significant rework may be subject to an additional charge.
Final Delivery
If you paid for your order via Artconomy, all rough drafts and the final work will be sent to you through Artconomy’s commission system.
For commissions paid with PayPal, the final work will be delivered to you via download link sent to the e-mail address you provided for the PayPal invoice. Story commissions will be delivered in RTF or a similar document format. VRChat and Unity commissions will be delivered in the form of a Unity package. For VRChat commissions, instructions on how to upload your avatar or world to VRChat will be included.
For VRChat worlds, I can alternatively upload the world myself. Do note that if you choose to have me upload the world, you will not be able to edit it yourself.
Edits After Delivery
Unless negotiated otherwise in writing prior to sending you the quote for your commission, further edits will not be provided after final delivery. An exception to this policy is made for errors, such as typos in story commissions or bugs in VRChat/Unity commissions. For these types of errors, I can make edits required to correct the issue and provide you with an updated file or Unity package. Errors must be reported to me within one year of the delivery date to be covered.
For bugs reported with VRChat avatars or worlds, I will need to be able to recreate the error myself with an unmodified version of the Unity package that I originally delivered to you. Any bugs caused by modifications you or another artist have made to the package I provided are not covered.
Retention of Old Commissions
I cannot guarantee that I will retain old commission files indefinitely. Although I make an effort to keep a copy of all final products that I deliver for a minimum of a year, there is always the potential of catastrophic failure when it comes to data storage and I cannot guarantee that I will have all of your old commission files. This is particularly true for VRChat/Unity commissions as they can often have large file sizes. If you lose your commission files and need a new copy, feel free to ask me and I can provide them if I still have them. I highly recommend, however, that you do not rely on this possibility and instead take appropriate steps to protect any data that you don’t want to lose through backups, cloud storage, and/or other means.
For PayPal VRChat/Unity commissions, expect the download link that I provide you with the final product to only be valid for 90 days; it is not feasible for me to keep these files constantly available in the cloud due to the typical large file size of Unity packages. If you need to redownload your commission files after this period has passed, please reach out to me and I can reupload them if I still have them available.
Refunds, Cancelations, and Chargebacks
This section applies only to orders paid via PayPal. Disputes for orders placed via Artconomy will be handled through the Artconomy Shield dispute resolution system.
As my commissions are service-based work, I cannot issue refunds once work has begun. Please be certain that you want your commission before you pay your invoice. Partial refunds may be offered based on the percentage of work I have not yet started. For example, if you commission me for a 10-chapter novel and ask for a refund after I have completed the rough draft for four chapters, 60% of the commission cost will be eligible for a refund.
I cannot guarantee when I will reach a certain completion percentage. Depending on my queue and the type of work being done, it might be a week before I am able to start your order, or I might have 50% of the work done within 24 hours of receiving payment. Please do not rely on a partial refund being available.
If you request a refund before I have started work on your order, a refund of 95% of the commission price will be offered. The remaining 5% is withheld to cover nonrefundable business costs associated with placing your order.
For VRChat or Unity commissions that require me to purchase a paid base model or paid Unity assets, the cost of any purchased assets will be deducted from any refund.
The refund policies above apply only to commissions. Any consulting work that is billed at an hourly rate is nonrefundable.
Cancelations
If a commission order is refunded or otherwise canceled, I retain complete rights and ownership over any in-progress work that was not delivered at the time of cancelation. I also retain ownership over any new characters that I created for the commission in question. Any portion of the work that was delivered at the time of cancelation and for which a refund was not granted has rights and ownership distributed as defined in these Terms (see “Commission Rights & Ownership”).
Chargebacks and Unauthorized Refunds
Any partial refunds allowed by these Terms must be requested by contacting me directly. Requesting and receiving a refund through PayPal without my authorization or using chargebacks or similar means to have your payment returned without my authorization is a violation of these Terms.
In the event of a chargeback or other unauthorized refund, you immediately forfeit all rights over the commissioned work granted by these Terms. Full ownership of the work and any new characters that I created for the work revert to me. You must immediately delete any rough drafts or final copies of the work received from me, and immediately take down the work anywhere you have published it. You will also be permanently blacklisted from requesting any further commissions or editing work for me, and any other current commissions you have with me will be immediately canceled with no refunds offered.
Commission Rights and Ownership
You may use any work you receive from me for editing and Unity consulting work for any personal or commercial purposes you desire provided that I am credited. Similarly, you may use any VRChat avatar or world commissions for any personal or commercial purpose provided I am credited.
My story commissions are offered at a lower rate than I would usually charge commercial customers to keep my writing accessible to the furry community. Because of this, all of my story commissions are for personal/noncommercial use only. If you wish to commission a story from me that you intend to use for any sort of commercial purposes or to purchase commercial-use rights for a previously commissioned story, please contact me directly with details of the intended use for a quote.
Character/Setting Ownership for Story Commissions
For story commissions, I may be willing to include characters and/or settings owned by me (“my pre-existing characters/settings”) depending on the content of the story. The use of these characters will be considered “non-canon” unless I expressly agree otherwise. I maintain ownership over and reserve all rights for these characters and/or settings and do not grant you any rights to use my characters and/or settings outside of any rights expressly granted in these Terms.
If I create entirely new characters and/or settings specifically for your story (“new characters/settings”), those characters and/or settings remain owned by me upon delivery of the work. I grant you the right to freely use any such characters and/or settings in any of your future personal or non-commercial projects, and you may freely create or commission artwork or stories from other creators involving said character and/or setting. I retain exclusive commercial-use rights over these characters and/settings, and reserve the right to reuse them in any future projects of mine.
You retain the rights to any characters and/or settings used in the work that you already own or that you have permission to use (“your pre-existing characters/settings”). If you wish for a character or setting owned by another individual or third-party in the commission, it is your responsibility to obtain any needed permissions for its use. I will not be held liable for any infringement caused by your failure to obtain proper permission for a particular character or setting.
Additional Terms for Story Commissions
- You may not, under any circumstances, publish or attempt to publish my work as your own; nor may you attempt to pass off my work as your own in any way, shape, or form. You may only redistribute my work for free and only if you clearly credit me as the author with a link to this website (http://nevewrites.com) at the beginning of the work. Ghostwriting services may be available for an additional fee, please contact me for details.
- You may not edit or modify my work without my permission.
- I may freely post your commission on my site, to other websites such as FurAffinity or SoFurry, or to fiction websites such as FanFiction.net. I will credit you as the commissioner unless you expressly request me not to do so. I will only post commissions to platforms appropriate for the work. For example, if the work is not fanfiction and is primarily “furry” in nature, I will only post it on websites related to the furry community.
- If you wish for your commission to be completely anonymous, please let me know in advance when you request your commission. If you do so, I will either refrain from posting the work or change any characters/settings attributable to you with original characters that cannot be tied to you when posting.
- If your commission is intended to be a gift and you wish for me to refrain from posting it until you have had a chance to give it to the recipient, please let me know when you place your order.
Use of Commissions for Marketing Purposes
- I may use your commission for the future advertisement of my services at any time and at my own discretion.
- Again, I will only post or link to your commission on platforms appropriate for the work. If you requested anonymity, I will replace all characters attributable to you with original characters not traceable to you.

Jurisdiction and Disputes
I always prefer to maintain good working relationships with my customers. To do that, communication is essential. If you have a dispute or an issue with your order, or if a situation occurs that you believe may prevent you from fulfilling your obligations under these terms, please reach out to me directly and as soon as possible. The sooner I’m made aware of an issue, the more options I have to try and find an arrangement that is agreeable for us both.
Any claims arising out of or relating to these Terms will be governed by the laws of Ohio, other than its conflict of laws rules. All disputes related to these Terms will be brought solely in the federal or state courts located in Cincinnati, Ohio, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in these courts.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found invalid, illegal, or unenforceable in any jurisdiction, then such provision, if allowable, will be modified to reflect the parties’ intention. Such invalidity, illegality, or unenforceability shall not affect any other provision of these Terms or invalidate or render unenforceable such provision in any other jurisdiction.
